A Balanced Frame
Breast Reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure used to reduce the size and shape of abnormally big breasts, making them more proportional to the rest of the body.
Women with large breasts causing neck pain, back pain, shoulder strap grooving, or skin rashes may benefit from Breast Reduction Surgery. It can also be a viable alternative for people who find it uncomfortable and embarrassing to wear certain clothes or participate in certain physical activities because of the size of their breasts.
Freedom to be Pain Free
Women who have large breasts often experience shoulder, neck, and back pain. The discomfort associated with large breasts is often corrected by eliminating the excess weight of large breasts. With reduced breasts, you may enjoy aerobic and cardiovascular exercise and find that other activities more accessible.
Women with large breasts frequently struggle to find a comfortable sleeping position and will sleep in uncomfortable bras. Following Breast Reduction surgery, it is easier to find a comfortable position and wear whatever you want to sleep in without needing extra support. If you're self-conscious or unhappy with your breasts, a Breast Reduction may enhance your emotional well-being. It's typically simpler to locate more appealing and flattering clothing, you can go to the beach or pool without feeling self-conscious about your looks, and you may feel secure in your body.
Your Health Matters
Some things to consider when looking at a Breast Reduction, are women who have large breasts may suffer from various health problems, including bad posture, skin ulcers, and chronic pain in the back, neck, and shoulders. Additionally, enlarged breasts might disrupt sleep and exercise. Aside from these medical difficulties, women with cumbersome breasts may experience self-consciousness about their appearance.
You are not alone if you are concerned about the size of your breasts. Hundreds of women seek therapy and complete Breast Reduction Surgery. As an Atlanta plastic surgeon, Dr. Mirzabeigi strives to offer the best and safest Breast Reduction Atlanta has to offer and wants to help you decide if you are a good candidate for a Breast Reduction.
Bring balance into your life
The method used for a Breast Reduction can differ. The technique may include incisional surgery and liposuction to remove extra fat from your breasts.
Dr. Mirzabeigi makes an incision around the areola and down the center of each breast. Then, he removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to minimize the size of each breast and reshapes and repositions the nipple and areola. Although your surgeon will make every effort to achieve symmetry between your breasts, some breast size and form variance may occur. The areolas can also be reduced. Your incision scars will flatten and fade over time.
The Plan that Makes the Difference
Following a Breast Reduction, most people can return to work within three to five days. Pain is mild and readily managed with over-the-counter analgesics. Most of our Atlanta Breast Reduction patients can resume light exercise in three to four weeks and total activity in six weeks. Dr. Mirzabeigi delivers recovery plans specific to your condition with follow-up appointments as needed to ensure you heal properly.
Although you will notice improvements right away, keep in mind that it can take months for the swelling to subside and the surgical scars to settle. Although breast shape and size might alter owing to variables such as aging and weight gain or reduction, the ultimate result is often permanent.
A change in your world

Although anesthesia will be used during the treatment, you should anticipate being uncomfortable for two to three days afterward. You will be given pain medication, and Dr. Mirzabeigi may advise you to apply wrapped ice packs gently to sensitive regions to reduce pain and swelling. Contact your care team if your discomfort lasts more than a few days or gets unbearable.
Every surgery has the possibility of complications. Infections, changes in sensation, and wound separation are the most common Breast Reduction complications. Most patients have a lollipop-shaped scar around the nipple with a straight line down to the crease under the breast or an anchor-shaped scar along the fold. The scar may appear red or raised at first but will fade over a year.
